Living Oaks Cottage School
Living Oaks Cottage School is a teacher-led, two-day-a-week educational community designed to partner with families in a shared life of learning. Students in grades K–12 attend campus on designated days for instruction in history, geography, science, literature, art, handicrafts, and Spanish. Rooted in the Charlotte Mason philosophy, our approach emphasizes living books, narration, attentive habits, and the formation of character through relationships with teachers, peers, ideas, and the world God has made.
We believe, with Charlotte Mason, that all knowledge is God’s knowledge and that there is no separation between the spiritual and the secular. Every subject is taught as both from God and for God’s glory, inviting students to see His truth, goodness, and beauty woven throughout creation and culture. On the remaining days of the week, learning continues at home under the guidance of parents, who remain the primary educators of their children. Families may choose to receive curricular guidance, scheduling support, and mentoring from Living Oaks for these home days, or they may independently direct subjects such as math and additional studies according to the needs of their children. In this way, we honor children as born persons and families as central to formation, cultivating a thoroughly biblical worldview within a relational, Christ-centered educational community.
“The knowledge of God is the chief knowledge, and the chief end of education.”
— Charlotte Mason, Philosophy of Education
